GTE STATEMENT
Introduction:
I am Applicant Name, a permanent resident of Permanent Address, Ward No. Number,Place Name, Nepal. My date of birth is Applicant’s D.O.B. For my further studies, I have been accepted by University Name, located in City Name to study Faculty name. I am writing this Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) Statement to demonstrate that I qualify under the GTE Criteria and I will be explaining about my studies, my research, my family and my career plans.
My Academic Background:
I have completed my high school education so far. I completed my grade 10 (Secondary Education Examination) on completed Date/year from School name, Kathmandu, with GPA Score and scored A+ in all 6 practical exams I gave in the school. So, my keen interest on Management System started from the school days as I did very well in these courses. After that, I enrolled at High School name, Address in the Management Faculty and completed my High School (Grade 11 and 12) and my results were issued on Completed Date/year with GPA Score. The whole world is going digital now and I am very confident that there is a great future for Technology Management graduates. Be it a hotel, bank or any organization, every single company these days use some kind of software. With this clear scope in mind, I have chosen the course for my studies.
My exams of grade 12 were postponed from Date, Year to Date, Year and hence my batch of students felt the direct impact of COVID on our studies and academic calendar. Further, I could not enroll immediately after my high school because the COVID-19 pandemic was going on and is still going on. Even the studies of my grade 12 were severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and classes were switching between online and offline. So, I utilized my time after high school and during lockdown by being engaged in a NGO (Together for Human and Environment in Nepal) as a volunteer and trainee in the IT Department where I got the opportunity to gain some exposure on day to day data for an organization and also using systems to generate reports and interaction with people. I trained there from Starting date to complete date. I was fortunate to be able to help many people in need during the lockdown as a trainee in the NGO since the NGO conducted food distribution campaigns during lockdowns. Even during lockdown, I could learn about the ways organizations operated virtually and it was an exciting learning curve for me. When the lockdown was lifted, I prepared for PTE and gave exam on Date & year and scored: overall Score Number with Number in Reading, Number in writing and Number in both Listening and Speaking modules. So, with academic preparations done, I sat down with my family to prepare for my studies financially and hence, I can confidently state that both academic and financial preparations for my studies in Australia have been completed.
My Family and Finances:
To start with my family, I have small family with only three members. My father is not with us anymore as he passed away in Year, but he was great inspiration and pillar of my family. My late father is Mr.Father name, my mother is Mrs. Mother name and my elder brother is Mr. Brother name. As my family is inhabitant of Municipality Name for long period of time, we have got total 6 plots of land as our family property. The plot no. Number is registered under my mother, other two plots Number is registered under my elder brother and similarly, plots no. Number are registered under my late father. Additionally, we have got 3 storied building in plot no. Number, where my family lives. So, in total according to the current valuation and having area Numbers of Sq. Meters, the total value of our property is (Amount in NPR) which is equivalent to (Amount) AUD. I have attached the relevant documents of our properties with this application.
Regarding our family income, my mother is a staff of Organization name at my home town, and has annual salary NRs. (Amount). Similarly, my elder brother is a school teacher at School name, and draws annual salary of (Amount in NPR). As my family has enough properties in our home town, we have managed to give our big plots of lands (plots no. 19 and 104) on lease to Organization name for storage of their construction materials and get NRS (Amount) as rent annually. Further, we have leased plots 584 and 974 to another company Company name for business usage and get (Amount in NPR) annually. Additionally, I have mentioned about three storied building in our home town which is in prime location and we have managed to give our 2 floors on rent and get (Amount in NPR) annually. The total annual income of our family is NRS (Amount). which is equivalent to (Amount) AUD. This financial explanation shows that my family is very hardworking and stable. So, I feel I am very lucky to be born in such a financially stable and socially reputed family. Due to this financial stability, I studied at the capital city Kathmandu during my school as high school years and now my family is funding for my studies in Australia too. I have attached all relevant income documents of our incomes for your consideration.
As my family understands the value of education, and even my late father always wanted me to excel in my studies, my family has supported my decision to study in Australia. As my brother is a teacher, he knows the importance of quality education and hence has supported my decision for abroad studies. My father would have also wanted the same for me. So, for my studies at ASA in Australia, we have calculated the total cost carefully and our estimates are:
Total Tuition Fee: AU$ 52,800
Fees after Scholarship: AU$ 42,240 (20% Scholarship)
Insurance: AU$ 2,203
Living Cost: AU$ 63,123 (3 years / AU$ 21,041 per year) Travel Cost: AU$ 2,000
TOTAL: AU$ 109,566
To cover my study expenses, my family has taken education loan of NRS . (Amount). from Bank Name. branch in my home town. This education loan will be for my tuition fees and living expenses in Australia. With the loan, I have paid my initial tuition fees for the first year and also health insurance costs. So, I can clearly say that we have the financial means to fund my studies at ASA in Australia. All the documents related to the loan have been attached with my application for your consideration. For my further studies, I have conducted research during the lockdown time and even recently and explored many options available to me in my own native land as well as foreign countries. Explanation of my research for studies is given in details below.
Nepal:
Having studied in Management Faculty, as I started looking for Technology Management courses in Nepal, it was very clear to me that I would not find specialized Technology Management courses. Kist College & SS offers Bachelor of Information Management. Another popular private college also offers same course under Tribhuvan University Affiliation. Similarly, as I surfed the Website of Tribhuvan University I got the Course like BSc. CSIT and this course is more related to science and got information that only science background students can get enrolled. So, I dropped idea to get enroll in this courses. Secondly, when I surfed the website of popular university of Nepal namely Pokhara University, I got the same course offered by Tribhuvan university Bachelor of Computer Information System having tuition fees at around NRS 6,00,000 for full course. As the university is located at Pokhara Metropolitan City-30 which is far from my home town and capital city as well as the course is not so much connected to what I wish to study. So, I dropped the idea of getting enrolled in this university. Same goes for Kathmandu and Purbanchal Universities. So, having gone through most options available in Nepal, I decided to look abroad for study options as I could not find practical courses that would help me become job-ready after graduation in technology management.
Asian Countries
Even though there are good options in India for my further studies, I have decided not to get enrolled there after careful discussions with my family and even teachers. Also, I did not feel the need to go into much detail about other Asian countries like China, Bangladesh and Japan which are popular destinations for students as many medical students opt for China and Bangladesh while Japan is a famous destination for students of Business and language. I did not select all these four Asian destinations because of four main reasons:
Firstly, the language spoken there is not English. As I want to develop a career in Technology Management, I want to learn in English Speaking Country so that I can improve my communication skills. I can read, write and listen well in English but I still get nervous when speaking. So, to overcome this fear of speaking in English in front of crowd or even in a meeting, I feel it is very necessary for me to develop confidence in spoken English.
Secondly, as I have to leave my family and home to study in these places, I felt why not go for the best. There will be expenses of lodging – fooding and I will miss my family badly, so I thought of not settling for any options expect for the best possible one.
Thirdly, my social life outside college is another great environment to learn. I will not have a good social life in these countries mainly due to language barriers I will face while communicating. Learning their local language is a good choice, but I would rather spend that energy and time on improving my English as Technology Management world revolves around English language.
Finally, the value of an Australian Qualification is far higher in Nepal that these neighboring countries. When I will be applying for jobs after returning back, a qualification from Australia will surely be valued far more by the potential employer.
United States of America (USA):
In the USA as well, English is the language of communication and it is the hub of technology with all giants like Google, Amazon, Apple, Facebook etc being from the USA. So, it was a very clear destination and I also calculated the cost of studies in the USA. In the USA, there are so many universities to choose from and I did extensive research on some of them. But I wanted to see the cost of living in the USA and hence browsed many websites to find out average cost of living in big cities like New York. The cost of living is estimated to be around US$ 25,000 per year (Source: link here). With this in mind, I looked into the tuition fees of some universities. I noted some good options.
– Course name program of University name with fee of (Amount) USD per semester.
– Course name program at University name with fees of (Amount) USD per module.
The course contents lacked the main component that I am looking for like studies of SAP and other Technology Management Systems and Agile Technologies. I see great future and scope of technology management as there are many big corporate houses evolving in Nepal and I am sure that there will be a huge demand for the same. Also, USA is a country that experienced many waves of COVID-19 and many people against vaccine. So, during these times of global pandemic, health wise, Australia is a much safer destination than the USA. So, after consultations and calculations, I finally choose to study in Australia ahead of the USA.
Europe:
Among the many countries in Europe that offer high quality and globally recognized degrees like Finland, Norway, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland and others, most do not have English as their official language. In some countries, I will even have to learn their language like Germany to get admissions. So, for the simple reason of language, I just did not consider these countries. Another popular study destination is the UK and I also did some research on studying there too. I was more interested in London as it is the hub of Europe. I noted some universities and also visited British Council many times to get some information along with some consultancies. I also attended some Webinars of Pearson Study in UK, I noted down a few universities that were very impressive and offered good courses in IT that had the content I was looking for (technology management):
– Information Technology Management for Business (ITMB) at University Name with tuition fee is around 12,500 GBP per year
– Information Management for Business (BSc) at University Name with fee of GBP 32,000 per year.
Some of these universities have tuition fees similar to Australian ones but the living cost of Sydney and London were very different. In London, as per the University website, students should estimate around 15,000 GBP per year for living cost. The three years of stay and tuition fees would be far more expensive in London, at exchange rate of 160 NRS for each GBP, than Sydney. Further, London is a cold and gloomy place while Sydney is a warm and sunny place. For me, Sydney made more sense in terms of cost as well as outdoor life in general.
I have also considered the ongoing war in Ukraine and the impact it is having in Europe and rest of the world. The oil and gas crisis in Europe is a serious issue and it can be said that Australia is far safer than Europe right now.
Australia:
Australian Education System has a very strong reputation in Nepal and globally as courses is recognized, accredited and accepted all over the world. Cities in Australia are equally popular among international students as “student cities” and hence it is a great place for pursuing higher education. More importantly, it is an English speaking country and people are of very relaxed in nature. Among many of reasons for picking Australia as my preferred destination, the important ones are:
– Australia is the most popular destination for international students in 2022.
– Australia has more than 22,000 courses to choose from which are offered by more than 1,100 institutions in the country.
– It has world class education system recognized and accepted all over the world.
– It has accredited courses that are regulated by the government to maintain quality.
– It has 6 out of the top 100 universities in the world according to Times Higher Education World University Rankings of 2020.
– Australian Education is very highly valued by employers in Nepal.
– There is very high satisfaction rates among international students studying in Australia as almost 90% of students are satisfied with their experience according to a 2018 survey by Department of Education among International Students.
– Australian cities are ranked as best student cities of the world.
– There are more than 2.5 million international students who have graduated from Australia.
– Australia has friendly and welcoming policy for international students.
– Australia has the ESOS Act 2000 that helps protect the rights of the students.
– It also has Tuition Protection Service (TPS) that protects the money paid by students for their studies.
– Australia has high vaccination rate and I can get booster vaccine easily in the long run if needed.
– As an island, it is one of the safest places in the world right now.
There are so many other factors as well that I read from www.studyaustralia.gov.au and I am confident that I have chosen a great place for my studies. It is a multi-cultural country with people from all over the world and English as the main language of communication.
Similarly, in terms of the total cost of studies as well, Australia is more affordable as the cost of living is estimated at AU$ 21,041 per year for international students by the government. I also checked many other government websites during my research to find facts about studies in Australia. I got information on VISA and requirements for students from https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au. I checked courses available and institutions offering Technology Management courses from http://cricos.education.gov.au. Also, other websites like made by the government helped me to finalize my decision. So, I am very confident that with all these benefits of studying in Australia, I have made an excellent choice for my studies.
Sydney:
Sydney has many advantages for international students. It is a student city with countless activities to do and a world class destination. Also, in terms of health care, it is one of the best cities. Sydney is also the business and technology hub of Australia and hence I have selected to study in Sydney. I browsed through www.cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au and it helped
me know the city better and understand the value a student gets from the city. Some clear benefits of Sydney and major highlights are:
– Reviews from international students as 88% of international students say they like the city for studies
– It is a Multi-cultural city
– Sydney has world class transportation facilities
– There are so many places to visit and learn from like Opera House, Circular Quay, Darling Harbour, Harbour Bridge and the Royal Botanic Garden during my off hours and weekends
– Sydney also has world famous beaches like Bondi and Manly Beach
– The city has amazing social life with restaurants, parks, gardens and activities
In terms of accommodation, there are so many affordable options listed in websites like links here and even in Social Media Pages where students look for room-partners for sharing basis. Furthermore, the weather condition of Sydney is very much like Kathmandu and I can really enjoy my time there during my studies. For all these factors, I am sure that I have selected the best possible study destination for my studies.
Study Options in Australia:
Surprisingly, Technology Management System Course is available only at few institutions including ASA. I was looking at different universities in Sydney for the course, but later realized non university or college had the course. The closest courses were:
– University Name offers Bachelor of Business and Enterprise with AUD 28,000 per year
– University Name offers Bachelor of Information Systems with Approximately AUD 140,000 for full course.
– University Name has tuition fee of AUD 30,880 per year.
These universities have very high tuition fees, while; my course at ASA is very affordable. I also looked into some colleges for Higher Education that offer technology management courses but most of them only have Information Technology and focused on web development or programming.
– University Name offers Bachelor of Business but does not have Information Systems in Sydney with both courses having total tuitions fees of $56,400.
– University Name offers Bachelor of IT (DEN) Digital Enterprise.
So, after browsing websites of numerous universities and colleges and also attending some seminars, I have concluded that ASA is the best choice for me as the college offers Technology Management course and is affordable too.
Established in 2017, University Name is a comparatively new college with modern facilities. Lead by Dr. Chivonne Algeo (CEO and Principal) with more than 20 years of academic experience at prestigious universities like Monash University and University of Technology Sydney, University Name offer great quality education. So, I expect to gain university standard education at more affordable cost at University Name. Technology Management is a very unique course that is offered by University name and importantly, I have received a 20% scholarship worth around AU$ (Amount) from the college from their standard fees of AU$(Amount). The course content of Technology Management at ASA is very well balanced and managed in 3 years. I have watched the videos of the college and facilities the college has from social media and websites as well. It is a college with modern course modules and also has students from many countries. This makes the learning environment very exciting and also educational. In addition, they offer blended learning process where I can complete some hours of my studies online. This is very important during the ongoing pandemic of COVID-19 as we can see another variant anytime. So, this is another factor I considered while selecting ASA. Some key highlights of the college are:
– Multi-cultural and diverse environment.
– Accredited courses.
– Modern facilities and resources for students with latest technology.
– Personal attention of tutors.
– Small class size and personalized teaching-learning process.
– Teachers are well qualified, experienced and experts in Technology.
– Well organized and developed course.
– Affordable fees.
– Very well recommended by students studying there.
– ASA offers internships which will be very great learning experience to me.
– ASA Course has units that deal with Agile methodologies, SAP logistics modules, SME systems and implementing cloud solutions. These are rare in other courses and are very important for a successful career in Technology Management.
With all these benefits and also a very supportive administration and student services, I am confident that I have chosen a very good place for my studies and that my studies at ASA will help me to establish myself as an Technology Management professional here in Nepal.
Course Name:
Studying of Technology Management is progress from my past studies in Management Faculty in High School and it is a very good choice for me. We have to look at the future while choosing a course, and I understand that for a developing country like Nepal, we are shifting rapidly to digitalization. So, a lot of business data is produced every day and Nepal does not have many experts who can handle the business data. So, this is a great course with future.
My course at ASA is the Faculty Name that starts on Date, Year and ends on Date, Year. This program focuses on the special challenges associated with selecting, installing and supporting systems which support business processes, data analytics and information flows within an organization. This program provides students with knowledge and skills drawn from those disciplines which are essential in the management of a modern business- accounting, statistics, business information systems as well as communications. The units and modules of the course are:
Course Structure list here:
The course also covers very critical components of today’s technology management like:
– Agile methodologies,
– SAP logistics modules,
– SME systems,
– Implementing cloud solutions
So, I am very excited to learn these at ASA and the modules will prepare for career as Business Analyst, Project Officer, Business Development Officer, Computer and information systems officer and so on. After completion of this 3 years course, I will gain cognitive and technical skills to facilitate problem solving and critical thinking in a business environment, and to present reasoned arguments and analysis of key business and technical data. I am very confident that I will be able to get well-paying jobs in Nepal and also look to utilize my skills. So, the course is like platforms for my career in the Business industry here in Nepal and obviously, with Australian Qualification, I will be more competitive in the job market here in Nepal.
My Career Plans:
After the completion of my undergraduate degree from ASA, I plan to return to Nepal and look to take advantage of this unique qualification that I will receive. I will be looking for positions of Data Analysis, Business Development, Project Development and Business Analyst. In Nepal, there are software and system used in all major organizations and they produce a lot of data on a daily basis. So, I will be looking to enter the corporate world and seek job opportunities in them. I will be very competitive while applying for these positions but with Australian Degree, improved English Language Skills and Australian Internship under my CV, I am very confident about my chances. Multi-national Companies in different sectors like Food (Chaudhary group of companies, Dabur, Hotels (Crowne Plaza), drinks (Coca cola) and many more have positions open regularly and they prioritize international graduates due to their exposure and communication skills. Data Analyst and Business Analyst jobs are regularly opened in multi-national companies and IT Companies and I will be looking to get into positions like:
Links here
Also, the NGO and INGO sector has numerous vacancies for the roles of Data Analyst and Project / Program Officers and Managers:
Links here
These specialist roles and positions have salaries of around NRS 40,000 and with some years of experience under my belt, I will be looking for higher positions like of Business Development Manager, Project Manager and Senior Business Analyst. Such positions have salaries at around NRs 100,000 in big companies. With the knowledge of SAP and Agile Technologies from ASA, I am very sure that I will be able to grow well in the corporate world of Nepal. So, in the long run, I am very confident that I will be able to recover the investment on my studies and excel in my career because of the knowledge and skills of technology management that I will receive from ASA during my three years of studies.
Coming Back to Nepal:
I have to come back to Nepal for my mother. We have already lost our father and she has suffered enough pain due to his demise, so it is absolutely important for me to be back to her and establish myself here in Nepal. Also, we have a lot of properties here in Nepal and it is my duty as well as responsibility to make use of those properties. Further, I will miss out on all the festive seasons and social life in my community for three years, so I will be back after graduation to enjoy the social life as well as quality family time.
Apart from personal reasons, there are numerous professional benefits of coming home for me. Nepal does not have any Technology Management courses and corporate houses are producing a lot of data that has to be managed. So, there is a very high demand of technology management specialists. I will be taking advantage of the opportunity here in Nepal and establish myself. Also, I will look to volunteer to share knowledge I will gain from Australia with young kids and youth at different institutions and even in person about the technologies like SAP, Agile Methods, and so on. This is another very exciting part of being back in Nepal as an international graduate.
My Travel History:
Write if any.
Obligations of Students in Australia:
I have gone through the websites of Home Affairs several times before making this application. As an international student, there are rules that I have to follow listed in site https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/already-have-a-visa/check-visa-details-and- conditions/see-your-visa-conditions as a student VISA holder. I have understood these conditions very well and some of the important ones are:

– Following work limits,
– Having good attendance at college and passing examinations of college
– Updating on change of address
I can assure you that I am a very dedicated student and so, I will follow all the rules and regulations as well as the Australian Values Statement.
